Microsoft’s Skype Gets ‘Together Mode’ Viewing Option

Representatives of Microsoft Inc said that they believe ‘Together Mode‘ will help alleviate virtual-meeting fatigue. It will also make meetings feel more real, as per the reports.  

The technology giant has also announced that it has added the ‘Together Mode’ option to Skype, which that originally debuted in Teams.

According to a report, in the latest Skype version or Skype 8.67, its Together Mode is one of a handful of new features available in different versions.  

‘Together Mode’ is actually a viewing option that makes users feel as if all the meeting participants are located in the same physically shared space, unlike the traditional grid view.  

Microsoft officials said that they believe the ‘Together Mode’ will help users alleviate virtual-meeting fatigue. It will also make meetings feel more real the reports say.  

The addition of Large Grid Mode that can enable users to see all a participant’s video stream simultaneously; more predefined backgrounds and categories; option to add a new participant in an ongoing Skype call by phone number and Skype; and more are some of the new features in Skype 8.67.  

There’s been no official or rumored word but for those wondering when Microsoft will drop Skype and make Teams, it will enable its consumer-facing meeting/chat platform with consumer functionality.  

The company is continuing to add new features to Skype and looks like it is positioning Skype as a simple way to meet and chat. Rather than that trying to make it an all-encompassing platform like Teams.
