Telefónica, Chosen Among Top 4 Leaders According to Transforma Insights

Recently, Telefónica has been recognized as the Top 4 leaders by research firm Transforma Insights in the press release ‘Communications Service Providers IoT Peer Benchmarking 2020’.   

The report by Transforma Insights is based on strategies analysis of the leading ten global Communication Service Providers (CSP) in IoT across three categories: geographical, vertical, and technical.

The report says that the company holds a strong position across each of the categories. It also highlights the opportunities now that a part of Telefónica Tech the IoT and Big Data capabilities have merged in the same business unit.  

According to the reports, the company will remain in the outstanding group of leaders in terms of global reach and deployment capacity and other capabilities including the aggressiveness in LPWA technologies and deploying both NB-IoT and LTE-M in Europe.  

It also notes good wins of Telefónica in private 5G networks in Brazil, Germany, and Spain. Its innovative approach to developing connectors between the various elements of a device such as a cloud, networks, and solutions.   

The report consolidation company’s portfolio is based on five main industries: Retail, Mobility, Industry, Energy, and Smart Cities. Here, the company has global systems integration and an extensive Big Data/Analytics/IoT consulting team of capabilities.  

Finally, through its collaboration with ElevenPaths, Transforma Insight’s report also highlights Telefónica’s IoT security centered strategy. Telefónica Tech’s cybersecurity company also notes the recent investment in Nozomi as well as its collaboration with Subex on a solution for threat detection analyzing IoT traffic on networks.
