Rumors say Apple Watch Series 8 will come with a Larger Display! Is it true?

Elevating the trend of larger displays, Apple’s Watch 8 will endorse a huge 2-inch display, seeing a vast increase in the size over the original model.
5% Larger Display
Apple Watch Series 8 rumors have been on fire lately. The latest rumor, emerging from the smartwatch world and spotted by 9to5Mac, reveals that it will have a huge 50mm display. The screen size would mean nearly two inches of display, and to many people, that would just be too much.
In a few months, Apple will reportedly unveil three new Apple Watches. The popular tech giant is expected to launch the Apple Watch Series 8 along with Apple iPhone 14 series later in 2022. As per DSCC’s Ross Young and Haitong International Securities’s Jeff Pu, the Apple Watch Series 8 will likely have a 5% larger display as compared to Apple Watch Series 7.
What do analysts say?
According to analysts, it will be the most important upgrade in years. Keeping that in mind, the latest predictions show the Apple Watch Series 8 will likely feature a bigger 1.99-inch display. Ross Young claims that the 45mm will not be the larger model available as Apple plans to announce a bigger version, with around 50 mm or 1.99-inch diagonally. This is not the first time the analyst said the new lineup could come in three display sizes.
As of now, it is likely unclear whether Apple will offer 41mm, 45mm, and 50mm versions or whether it has something to do with the new extreme sports version rumored to be announced a few months from now. According to MacRumors, analyst Jeff Pu also corroborated this report by saying Apple supplier Luxshare will be the sole supplier for a high-end 2-inch Apple Watch model.
Other Rumored Specs of Watch Series 8
On 3 July 2022, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported both Apple Watch Series 8 and a new rugged edition will feature body-temperature detection. The Apple Watch SE 2, on the other hand, is unlikely to receive this function. The body-temperature feature will not give a specific reading—like with a forehead or wrist thermometer. However, it should be able to tell if it believes you have a fever. It could then recommend talking to your doctor or using a dedicated thermometer.
In the newsletter, Bloomberg’s journalist said that other hardware changes will probably be minor. As reported previously, the Apple Watch Series 8 was rumored to feature the same S6 chip available on the Apple Watch Series 6—making this the first Apple Watch to have the same processor for the third year in a row. Gurman heard internal chatter about updated displays in the new high-end models, which he hopes they get even brighter.
The increase in screen size may be due to the rumored flat display in the upcoming smartwatch. As per leaker Jon Prosser, the Apple Watch Series 8 will have a flatter display as compared to the curved glass display seen in the Apple Watch Series 7 and Apple Watch Series 6.
